How to Research Etsy Product Listings in Excel

Etsy sellers and resellers often want to see what's already selling in a category — titles, prices, sellers — in one spreadsheet instead of dozens of open tabs. Here's a workflow, based on a real test run.

Researching an Etsy category or niche usually means opening a lot of tabs — comparing titles, prices and how sellers are positioning similar products. Getting that into one spreadsheet makes the comparison much easier, and it's a task that fits well within what a click-to-select browser extension can actually do, since the data is visible right there on the listing page.

A real test run

To check this workflow actually holds up, ClickScrape was pointed at an Etsy shower-curtains category and set to collect link, title, price, image and seller for each listing. It collected 126 records across 2 pages, with a live progress and record count as it worked through the results, and exported cleanly to a spreadsheet.

The workflow

  1. Open the Etsy category, search results or shop page you want to research
  2. Click ClickScrape's icon, then click the fields you want on one listing — typically link, title, price, image and seller
  3. ClickScrape collects the same fields from every other listing on the page, and keeps going as you move through additional result pages
  4. Optionally run Detail Enrichment to follow each listing's link for extra fields like material or shipping
  5. Export to Excel (.xlsx), CSV or JSON, or download all the listing images as a ZIP

What this doesn't do

  • It doesn't run on a schedule to monitor prices over time — it's a manual, on-demand collection
  • It doesn't bypass Etsy's own bot protection or rate limits
  • Layout changes on Etsy's side may require re-selecting fields

You're responsible for using this in line with Etsy's terms of service and any applicable laws — ClickScrape only collects what's visible to you as a normal visitor to the page.

Frequently asked questions

It works on the standard Etsy listing pages — category, search results, shop pages — where the data is visible once the page has loaded. Etsy occasionally changes its page layout, which can mean re-picking fields if a previous selection stops matching.

ClickScrape extracts whatever fields are visible on the page you click on — if a field like review count is shown on the listing or its detail page, you can select it. We're not claiming compatibility with every specific Etsy data point, since Etsy's page layout and what it displays can vary and change.

You're responsible for reviewing and following Etsy's terms of service and any applicable laws when using ClickScrape on Etsy or any other site — ClickScrape doesn't bypass logins, CAPTCHAs or anti-bot protection, and it only collects what's visible to you as a normal, logged-out or logged-in visitor.

Yes, using Detail Enrichment — ClickScrape can follow each listing's link to its own page and pull additional fields like material, seller name or shipping info back into the same row as the listing data.
